Get involved in BPA. It is a great experience, and a great way to develop your leadership skills. See Mrs. Berrett if you want to join.

We are now accepting new members. Registration must be completed by October 28th. There is a $35 fee to join and it must be paid by October 28th. The fee includes national membership dues (8.00), state membership dues (12.00), and regional dues (5.00). One dollar for each member is donated to Special Olympics. The remainder (9.00) goes toward the state leadership conference fee of (45.00). Those interested in joining can follow this link and fill out the registration form. This is also available on the BPA page under clubs on the school website.

Members will meet weekly on Thursdays during lunch in Mrs. Berrett's room. Bring you lunch.

Students will compete at the regional leadership conference on January 15th at EITC in Idaho Falls. Those that qualify for the state competition will have the opportunity to compete in Boise, March 10-12 2016. Those that qualify for nationals will have the opportunity to travel to Boston for a 50th year celebration May 5-9.

Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.

BPA has 43,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 23 states. BPA is a co-curricular organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering co-curricular exercises based on national standards.

The Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) prepares students to succeed and assesses real-world business skills and problem solving abilities in finance, management, IT and computer applications. It is BPA's showcase program and facilitates students demonstrating their career skills at regional, state and national conferences in 72 competitive events.

Some of BPA's other major programs include the National Leadership Academy, Officer Elections and scholarships. The Torch Awards Program and BPA Cares Program recognize students and chapters, respectively, for their leadership and service to their chapter and community.

The Emblem

The four points of the BPA shield stand for Ambition, Leadership, Sociability, and Poise. The shield itself stands for honor and dignity and the importance of business in America. The stripes represent education, citizenship, loyalty, patriotism, competency, and dependability. The bar represents the service provided by employees in business occupations. The quill and inkwell represent the stability of business occupations through the ages, and the torch represents worthy goals.

Use of the Acronym

Using an acronym (BPA) to identify the organization is acceptable in casual conversation and personal correspondence. Once the name is spelled out in full, the acronym may be used in text. Do not use the acronym for cover titles or headlines.
